The other night I watched, on blessed YouTube, the 1983 film of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. I had seen it some twenty years ago, when I had such an almighty crush on Jeremy Irons that I would have been blind to any flaws; now, from a more measured perspective, I found myself wondering about it.
